About Me
I am a college graduate from the State University of New York at Albany majoring with a Bachelors in Communications and Media Production. Before that I attended the State University of New York at Cortland for two years. Throughout my college career my main focus has been media production in radio, television, print, and on the web. Although each medium has its differences, I find that all three work together quite well.
Over the years I have become increasingly interested and aware of the influence media outlets have on our daily lives. Although I’m particularly partial to sports, I understand what purpose all media outlets and stories serve.
I spent two years co-producing a radio show at the University at Cortland. The show was named “Speak in’ Out” and primarily focused on sports news from the week in the NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, PGA, NASCAR, and the NCAA men’s/women’s basketball.
Capital News 9, a local news station in Albany, was where I advanced my understanding of the media production process. As a sports broadcasting intern I used the Vortex editing system to create sports highlights for local high school and college games, edited ingested videos and sound bites, and assisted the sports director in the daily broadcast. In addition, the station allowed me to produce, develop, and create my very own demo of sports news stories and highlight reels as compilation of the things I learned.
In class I learned how to use a variety of editing software: Microsoft Windows Media Maker, Audacity, Adobe InDesign 2.0, and Adobe Illustrator. I also taught myself how to use cool edit pro, FL Studio, and Acid Pro to develop musical elements and audio pieces.
